The bottom of the bag is sewn together with 2” wide nylon webbing while the top has a Velcro brand hook and loop closure sewn to a 3” wide band of nylon webbing that incorporates a nylon loop on one end large enough to accommodate a standard size climbing carabiner or rope to use for hanging. All nylon webbing used has a breaking strength of 1800 lbs/minimum.

How do you USE the bag?

            Open the Velcro at the top of the bag and place your food inside. After all your food and/or valuables (birds like shinny objects) are in the bag, simply apply pressure against the 2 pieces of Velcro effectively closing the bag. The bag can either be hung to swing or tied to an object on the ground such as a rock or the base of a tree. The bag does not have to be hung, but in Raven country, its best to hang it allowing the Foodsack to swing and therefore not letting the bird get purchase or, concealing the bag with rocks or a nylon stuff sack and placing it in an area where the bird cannot fly – out-of-sight, out-of-mind.

What types of animals is the Foodsack effective against?

            The Foodsack is very effective against small nuisance animals such as: mice, rats, squirrels, ringtail cats, chipmunks, skunks as well as large insects. These small animals cannot chew through the wire mesh so therefore you can leave it anywhere. For the larger animals such as bears and Ravens, the bag should be hung or concealed.
